To say that I am anticipating this weekend would be an understatement. I have made it a goal recently to say yes to everything that gets me out of Charlotte, to friends, and to new adventures. So far it’s been wonderful! In the last month alone I have been all over North and South Carolina. Only to continue more this weekend with two days at Baytree Lake and two days at the Blockade Runner in Wrighstville Beach! All with my handsome boyfriend and best friends from home! Not to mention a couple days with that new adorable nugget Lee that Kym brought into the world in February! So ready to relish every moment four days with my favorites brings! Hurry up Friday!!!!

My sister and I always talk about home. About mom and dad’s back yard oasis. We love it there so much. I try to describe the calming effect that even just a few minutes on the steps leading up the screened in porch or the back door provides. Marcus always hears me go on and on. Maybe this helps. The view from back steps with the sunshine and the birds. Wherever we are. We’ll always be dreaming of home :)

I was nominated for The Top 30 Under 30 in Charlotte last week. Our question and answer sheets were all due on Monday and I have been anxiously awaiting news of whether or not I made the cut! I did! I can’t believe it! What an incredible feeling to realize the strides I have made in the last year have been recognized by the people around me! Here’s to my best year yet! I am so blessed and so grateful :) What a motivator to keep pushing forward!

I Live Under Your Sky Too is a massive (32-feet wide) installation by artist Shilpa Gupta, erected by the sea on Carter Road in Bandra, Mumbai.

The installation features the text “I live under your sky too” written in three languages — English, Hindi and Urdu — using LED lights with the individual words intermixed. The lights go on and off, highlighting the sentence in each language alternately. Read between the lines and the message is one of religious, national, political, class, and gender harmony.
