friday afternoon. i rented the boyfriend a pontoon on lake norman for his birthday. we drove around for hours. soaking in the sun. laughing with friends. and enjoying an afternoon on the lake! we stopped at rusty rudder for coronas and margaritas. and danced our way back to the dock to head home and get ready for dinner. we had so much fun. dinner was at chima uptown. and it was delicious! i’m not going to lie. if you are a vegetarian… do not ever go there! marcus (who is basically a meat-a-tarian anyway) loved it. and for good reason. we ate filet mignon. and lamb. rib eye. top round sirloin. chicken. and probably ten other meats. (apparently all they eat in brazil is meat?) needless to say i was so full i could have popped. we all were. but it was a really cool experience. and perfect for the boyfriends birthday. we followed dinner with champagne at dandylion market and finished the evening in drinks in noda! since we lost A Wall a year ago on marcus’s birthday. we decided to celebrate her life with two dozen confetti eggs at midnight. and wow. do those little things leave a ton of confetti places (sorry to my little neighborhood bars you probably had to sweep for hours) but we had an amazing time! the boyfriend’s birthday was wonderful :)
i started at fuze salon too! and i love it! it’s fantastic! i work with such fun people. i swear so far i hardly feel like i’m working. i’m just laughing with stephanie for a few hours everyday while i check people in for their appointments and cash them out afterwards. if any of you are ever in charlotte. come see me and get 20% off your new do :)
i’ve been beyond busy with no time to update tumblr. (this is probably a good thing. but one can only go so long without finally sneaking a late night tumblr session in) so here i am :)
steeplechase was weekend before last. i was so excited to have a saturday off! marcus and i worked friday night. didn’t go to bed until like 4am and woke up at 8 to get ready and drive to stoneybrook. i put on a teeny sundress. put my new big floppy hat in the car. packed up pacificos and homemade yummyness to eat for lunch. and we got in the car. and i watched in horror as the digital thermometer dropped from 74 to 54 by the time we got into our parking spot. needless to say. i spent the afternoon wrapped in a quilt. attempting to evade the fact it was FREEZING. and every horse i picked lost… at least marcus lost a lot too. dad won three races in a row (let’s take that man to vegas!!!) but we had an amazing time. laughing at the number of “mounts” each jockey had last year (i know right. how old are we?) and attempting to find alex for an hour. in which we learned there was actually a rock climbing wall. as well as a mechanical bull (who knew they had these at steeplechases…) in the end. we drove home. happy campers. and ready for next year!
