“I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go. Things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they go right. You believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart, so that better things can fall together.”—
“Gay and lesbian service members — brave Americans who enable our freedoms — will no longer have to hide who they are. The fight for civil rights, a struggle that continues, will no longer include this one.”—* Obama in regards to the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell.
that at age 27. i am in still in denial about christmas being so close and procrastinating on the whole “get things for my favorites” aspect. whats that called… GIVING! i can not believe i still do this every year. you’d think i’d have learned by now. apparently my day off tomorrow will become. shop for everyone i know day. with how slow work has been lately. let’s also hope it’s… everything i need to buy is on sale day.
wish me luck.
in order to make myself feel better i’m going to assume all of you have procrastinated as much as i have… if not… don’t tell me :)
although always hilarious. i laughed pretty hard the entire evening. where do people find these things? i thought my sweater was awesome. and then sam came in with his “smoking jacket” on. that had a hunter and his labrador retriever chasing deer all the way around it. layered over one of the ugliest and most sequined vests i had ever seen. marcus wore something that resembled a tropical sunset. and jen created one of the more awesome sweaters. complete with mitten applique’s stuck on her boobs.
have been insanely busy! it always happens like that around the holidays. just when i feel like i am on top of everything, i suddenly realize how very far behind i am. (please say you all can relate) i found myself baking a million (slight exaggeration) goodies tonight. dipping pretzels in white chocolate and rolling them in crunched up peppermints. sticking m and m’s strategically on top of sugar cookies. (am i the only idiot that forgot they make packages of red and green m and m’s and thus bought 3 normal packs. because the ratio of green to red m and m’s is astoundingly off) and attempting to make my double chocolate chunk cookies look as good as they tasted.
we have our first annual ugly sweater party at work tomorrow and i of course signed up to bring desserts. lately i have gotten back into cooking. so it was nice. just me in the kitchen. three dogs begging for everything. and the music on. i finally felt like i was getting in the christmas spirit. better late than never :)
now if only the tree fairy would visit again. that was amazing last year! (and we already murdered the little tree amanda bought) seriously how are we so bad with plants. especially considering they come with instructions…
we had my bday celebration on saturday. and it was amazing! morgan flew in town. anna and mike came from raleigh. and all my favorite charlotte kids took the night off to head uptown with us. we had dinner @ enso. drinks @ mez and kazba. and finished the night off dancing @ suite. so much fun :)
thank you everyone for the birthday wishes. presents. and love! i love all of you :)
